Nasolabial Folds

Nasolabial folds are the lines or creases that run from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth. These creases or folds may begin to appear more prominent as we age. As they do so, the lines begin to frame the mouth, creating an older, more tired or upset appearance. Until now, treatment options have been limited to invasive operations (such as facial implants) and short-acting fillers that require multiple touchups to maintain results past a few months. Now, however, clinical studies prove that Radiesse® treatments are a long lasting alternative to leading fillers and deliver a natural look that lasts.

Learn more about RADIESSE treatment's other facial uses.

A recently published independent study, Annals of Plastic Surgery 2005; 55(1): 30-35 (Kanchwala, et. al.), comparing RADIESSE dermal filler and three other soft-tissue fillers for facial augmentation recommended RADIESSE dermal filler as the preferred filler for augmenting nasolabial folds. The longevity of RADIESSE dermal filler was rated as excellent.

In addition, investigators concluded that RADIESSE dermal filler is a cost-effective option in treating nasolabial folds because it may require fewer office visits for retreatments. Published independent studies show that a typical treatment for nasolabial folds lasts a year or more in many patients with occasional touchups recommended prior to that time.
